The Unwired Edge Cloud’s observability features capture telemetry on modems, signal quality, bandwidth, connection drops, device status, and configuration rollouts. The operations team sees in real time which buses are online, which modems switch cells frequently, and which devices show anomalies. Historical data supports root-cause analysis for recurring issues, for example on specific routes or with specific carriers. OpenMetrics interfaces let you integrate the data into existing monitoring and reporting systems.

Unwired Edge Cloud onboard routers include a built-in container environment where additional applications run securely and in isolation. Automatic passenger counting, IBIS-IP passenger information systems, or onboard CCTV integrations can all be activated later, without installing new hardware in the vehicle. The applications are rolled out centrally, updated along with the rest of the system, and managed together through device management. This keeps the platform open for future requirements without over-specifying the initial project.

The Unwired Edge Cloud supports transit operators subject to NIS2 in several ways: processes and delivery are ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certified, safety-critical networks can be cleanly separated from passenger and service networks via VLAN, and observability data provides a solid basis for incident documentation and audits.
